When selecting a roof shingle, it is equally important to consider a proper ventilation system which will exhaust excessive heat and moisture. Condensation and heat build-up in the attic can reduce the effectiveness of attic insulation and damage roofing components causing rafters to rot and shingles to soften, curl and buckle.

When replacing or installing a new roof, it is an excellent time to evaluate other roofing projects such as a gutter protection system, skylights and sun tunnels.
